Help! Platypus!I’m baaaaack!  And boy did I learn A LOT while I was gone.  Here’s a run-down of all my Disneyworld epiphanies (in no particular order)!

1.  I love spray-able sunscreen.  It is the best stuff ever and I will never ever squeeze another bottle of sunscreen again!

2.  I was able to walk forever and not get tired.  We went to at least one park everyday and I had no trouble with the constant movement, in fact I enjoyed it.  Very cool!

3.  I need to find better strategies for eating healthy on vacation.  Around the 2nd day I started making some minor bad food choices.  By the time we left, I was making MAJORLY bad food choices.  I’m not gonna freak out over it, just going to get back on the horse and keep going from where I left off.  Although I really find it interesting just how easy it was for me to say “screw it” and eat bad.  It doesn’t seem like it should be that easy.

4.  Platypus can be a life saver.  Hubby and I found ourselves communicating poorly really early on in the trip due to the stress of travel with a toddler and trying to coordinate with family.  After a long first day there, we sat by the pool that night and agreed that we should come up with a “safe word”.  Whenever an argument was starting, either one of us could say “platypus” to stop the conversation dead in it’s tracks.  We found this to be a very effective way to nip petty arguments in the bud and move on from them quickly.  By the end of the next day, we were both singing the praises of platypus.  We also discovered that if it was a serious enough argument, platypus wouldn’t stop it (which happened only once).

5.  Airplanes do not have changing tables.  Changing a dirty diaper on an airplane is NOT FUN!  But a great flight crew can really make it bearable.

6.  Priorities.  My priorities needed some shifting.  Due to my newfound love of blogging, I have neglected other areas of my life.  Not on purpose, but neglected nonetheless.  Because of this realization, I will be cutting back on my blog posts.  It would be easy to spend 8 hours a day working on my blog and reading all the other blogs out there.  As most moms know, if we are doing one thing (blogging), there is something else that is not getting done.  Ugh.  So in an effort to shift priorities and better balance my life, I will be cutting back.

7.  And last but not least… YES, it is possible to get a little drunk and end up with a henna tattoo at Epcot Center!  Just in case you were wondering! :)

Sounds like you had a great time (apart from changing the baby on the plane)!

I’ve also cut back on blogging! It’s worth it.

I’m so glad you had a great vacation! And good for you for figuring out that your priorities were askew and doing something about it. But when you have time, can you tell us the tattoo story. :)

Welcome back!

That Epcot can make you do some crazy things! :) Glad to hear that you had a great time. The safe word idea is great. There isn’t a lot of healthy choices there. How many wraps can one eat? Don’t worry!

Totally understand the blogging thing. It is totally addictive. I have been purposing to get more house work done during nap times and cleaning up more. It makes me feel better about my life online. :) Having a husband that spends almost as much time (or more) on the computer helps too!
