Hubby, bro-in-law, and myself decided to spend the day wandering around while my parents-in-law stayed at the hotel with my daughter and did fun stuff there. The day was hot. Very, very hot (and mind you it’s only MAY in Orlando!). If you aren’t familiar with Epcot Center, it’s somewhat of an “educational” experience in that the park is dedicated to cultural and technological innovation (as described by wikipedia). The World Showcase features pavilions that represent 11 different countries. We started in Mexico and had some lunch. After fueling up, we kept making our way around from country to country. By the time we reached Morocco (more than halfway through the showcase), we were thirsty! You know that “I’m hot and sweaty and have been walking a lot, please-give-me-something-cool-to-drink“ kind of thirsty?
(Side note: I don’t drink very often at all. I’m not a beer or wine drinker but I like the occasional fruity drink but it’s not a big thing for me. That being the case, it does not take much AT ALL for me to get drunkish. And when I am drunkish, I get very, very silly. FYI) Plenty of places had beer but yuck, I wanted something refreshing and tasty. Lo and behold, right smack dab in the middle of Morocco, was a dude making blended rum drinks! Yeehaw! So we all ordered up some delicious pina coladas! My favorite, YUM! After being refreshed with my colada, my eyes spotted this shop (still in Morocco) advertising henna tattoos. I have two real tattoos that I got when I had just turned 18 and ever since then, I have always wanted more. So what better way to indulge without the permanency of a real tattoo? Plus, the colada made the idea sound FANTASTIC. So I picked out a nice $15 design that is supposed to mean “music”. Wham, bam, thank you m’am, and 10 minutes later I’ve been henna tattooed! My little music design was placed on my calve and was cute as could be. I had fun walking around the rest of the day with it and teasing my parents-in-law that it was real. Who woulda thought you can get pina coladas and tattoos in Morocco?! I think the funniest thing to come from this story is that the whole little experience has given me the tattoo bug again, BAD! I’m definitely contemplating getting a real one of my calve now, especially now that they are getting all muscly from running. So, if you’re ever in Morocco… (Note about the picture: I scoured the internet trying to find a good pic of the “music” henna tattoo since mine has already faded so much… but to no avail!)

That sounds like fun! I’d love to go to Morocco, but maybe I’ll just go to Epcot instead!

OH that sounds like a fun day! I’m a sucker for rum drinks, too, but I’ve never had one lead to a tattoo! LOL I hadn’t considered a henna tattoo, but you’ve got me thinking about it! Thanks for the story! Post a comment
