The grass is always greener…Well folks, there’s something I’ve realized as the Domestic Weight Wars challenge has continued on… I am too cocky for my own good sometimes.  Did I make a mistake in challenging my Hubby?  No way!  Did I make a mistake in making the challenge stakes pretty high?  Heck no!  So where did I make the critical, crucial, game-changing error?  <sigh>

In insisting that we NOT use percentages!!  UGH!!!

My cockiness led me to believe that I could wipe the floor with my Hubby in this challenge by the mere pound to pound weight loss comparison!  When drawing up the details of this challenge, I felt no need to use the percentages, after all, I was going to win no matter what!  And that, my friends, was my fatal flaw and a lesson I am going to spend the whole month of July learning.

The fact of the matter is that I am winning in percentages and losing in pounds.

No, the challenge is not over yet.  We still have one more week and a day.  And it is always possible that my sweet Hubby will decide that while our daughter is off visiting her grandparents next week and we are celebrating our wedding anniversary that he will have a few extra beers and eat heavier foods.  I could still pull it off but at this point, the challenge is Hubby’s to lose.

So here are the official number for Week 3:

Hubby lost a total of 3.2 pounds last week.  I lost a total of 2.4 pounds last week.  2.4 pounds and I’m still losing!!!  Unreal.

Hubby’s total weight loss percentage is 3.66% and mine is 4.04%.  Ouch.

So being that it was my own cockiness that created this issue for me, I must take responsibility for it, own it…

and pray that the grass doesn’t grow in July!

Julie, I’m not talking to you anymore…why? because I want to cry when I see how much you’ve lost. I’m pounding my ass everyday and I don’t think I’m losing anything. Anyway, weight war or not, you’re still doing great overall. Can’t you just change the rules midway through the challenge with your feminine wiles? lol

Even if you lose you still win in many respects. :)

Jojo, I know! The weight is melting off now. I’ve cracked down hardcore on my calorie counting and that has made a huge difference. The closer I stay to 1,200 calories, the more I seem to lose!

Andrew, so true. Getting my Hubby involved in all this with me has been wonderful. And that alone is worth a month mowing!

I agree with Andrew; you both win! But then I’m not the one mowing the lawn in July either. :)

Congrats on the fantastic loss! (and a grudging congrats to hubby too.*G*)
