You can call this a mommy blog if you’d like. I’d definitely consider it a compliment. I am a mom and will from time to time discuss my toddler daughter and some of the silly stuff she does. I stay home with her and we have an awesome time doing stuff together and those are some of the most fulfilling and rich moments of my life. But I can’t say that my blog is about being a mom, per se.
As much as I want to focus on that stuff, I find my direction going somewhere else. You see, I am a mom, a wife, a woman, who is making Big Changes in her life.
Two months after my daughter was born, I weighed 198 pounds, my heaviest ever. Since then I have been focused on losing the weight. Six months later and down 30 pounds, my husband accepted an offer for a new job in a new town. So for the next 6 months, I went stagnant and sorta lost my way.
That brings me to January 2008 and the re-ignition of my weight loss efforts. But something along the way changed this time and I have begun not only a journey to lose the weight, but a journey to total health: mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual. That almost sounds like a description of a “perfect life” or a super hero. It’s good to have goals, right? Haha.. no, this is just where I’m at in life and the areas of my life that I want to improve.
This blog is somewhat of a description of my evolution as a person but more importantly, there is also information here that might be able to help you too. I’ve learned many times over that it’s easier to tackle stuff together rather than going it alone.
My promises to you as EvolvingMom.com readers:
I will try to keep the cheesiness factor to a minimum. It might happen occassionally but I will at least try to warn you.
I will try to keep the content light and entertaining. Serious blogs are too serious. My content may be heavy sometimes but dang it, I will try to make you laugh!
Helping you change for the better is my goal. Let me know what I can do to make this a cooler blog for you. (I have plans to add a message board in the future, as well as contests, and other fun stuff.)
I’m very excited to see EvolvingMom.com launch… Let’s give this a go and see how it rolls!
